As FC 25’s implementation of the Frostbite engine becomes increasingly resource-intensive with each iteration, performance on legacy or lower-end hardware continues to degrade.
This mod addresses that by modifying several high-overhead graphical components to reduce GPU load and improve frame rates without significantly compromising visual clarity.
Changes Made:
- Texture Resolution: Downscaled across multiple asset groups to reduce VRAM usage.
- Shadow Quality: Lowered shadow map resolution and cascade levels to minimize GPU computation.
- Level of Detail (LoD): Adjusted distance thresholds for high-poly models to reduce geometry load at longer ranges.
- Crowd Resolution: Reduced the polygons used by 3D crowd assets.
- Cloth Simulation: Disabled or minimized dynamic cloth physics on kits and flags.
- Mipmapping: Modified mipmap bias to favor lower-resolution levels at distance.
- Bloom Effect: Significantly toned down to reduce post-processing overhead.
- Depth of Field (DoF): Reduced the amount blur computations.
- Anti-Aliasing: Reduced high-cost TAA with the light-weight FXAA.
- Dynamic Resolution Scaling: Tuned thresholds for more aggressive downscaling under load.
- Cloth Wrapping System: Optimized deformation logic for improved CPU/GPU performance.
Note: To apply the optimizations, set your in-game Graphics Preset to Low.
Good work Emran!!!!! 😀
